Great book! References are easy enough to find due to the way the information is arranged. I did tab out the most used section for quick access. The book is small enough to fit in a tool box or tool kit fairly easily. I do wish there was a slightly larger version that has bigger text. My old eyes struggle with the small font but it’s manageable. All around good information to have on hand when you need it.

More information than most will ever need to know about fasteners.

The depth and breadth of the data contained in this magnificent little book is amazing. As a companion to my copy of the legendary Engineers Black Book it has helped me enormously to choose the best fasteners for any application. I keep these books within easy reach at all times and they are very well used. Brilliant.

Extremely comprehensive and easy to follow. Not cluttered with unecessary detail but just gets to the point, presents information in an easy to follow format. The use of colour to highlight and distinguish information means the small font size, (to keep the books compact and pocket sized) is perfect and easily read.

I have found this book to be very helpful as an engineering student and I have not left home without since I got it. I have used it for obtaining torque specs for bolts and have used the catalogue of fasteners to get dimensions, which is helpful for designing parts in CAD. The tapping chart is also extremely useful for a quick reference in the workshop.

It gives a lot of relative information for those seeking to learn more about all types of fasteners and gives good explanations of each type and their general purpose.

I wish there was more explanation of calculating the torque of a fastener. Mainly more examples and maybe a practice sheet with answers in the back to help with learning the formula!

I absolutely love these series of black books! I bought a copy of the fastener Black book for the house and loved it so much I bought a second for work. I reference this book at least once a day at my design job.

This book includes any info you'd need for fasteners and it's very easy to find what you are looking for.

Amazing design and general sanity check reference

Covers what's normally needed for UNS and metric fasteners

The only cons are minor ones. First is that it's a little lacking on BSW and BA hardware. These are still encountered in Commonwealth countries, especially in fields that service older equipment. The second is a lack of quick find tabs, which every other book has.
